Gymnocalycium buenekeri is a cactus species known for it's attractive pink flowers, five-ribbed appearance and yellow spines. It is relatively easy to cultivate, tolerates cold when kept dry, and can be propagated from seeds. It's often found in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. They thrive in full sun to part shade and well-draining soil.
