Description

Hoodia gordonii is a rare, spiny succulent native to the deserts of southern Africa, famed not only for its striking appearance but also for its traditional use as an appetite suppressant by the San people. Resembling a cactus but belonging to the Apocynaceae family, it features upright, ribbed stems covered in small spines and produces large, star-shaped, flesh-toned flowers with a unique scent to attract pollinators. A slow-growing and drought-tolerant plant, it’s prized by collectors of medicinal and unusual succulents.
